Webmaster – oDesk

Primary Function
The Webmaster is a technology expert who is in charge of all the IT aspects of the website and oversees all IT projects and manages all IT staff. To be responsible for the overall direction, coordination, implementation, execution, control and completion of specific IT projects ensuring consistency with company strategy, commitments and goals.

Major Responsibilities
1. Install and configure all software and updates
2. Troubleshoot all technological issues
3. Back up all critical data onto magnetic mediums and archiving it onto DVD and maintaining secondary boot drives in case of server failure to minimize down time
4. Adding and maintaining e-mail accounts, group privileges and file access privileges
5. Able to respond in case of a server crash.
**6. Manages the IT people hired for the IT projects.

IT Project Management Responsibilities
 facilitate the definition of project scope, goals and deliverables
 lead the planning and implementation of all IT projects
 define project tasks and resource requirements
 develop full scale project plans
 assemble and coordinate project staff
 manage project budget
 manage project resource allocation
 plan and schedule project timelines
 track project deliverables using appropriate tools
 provide direction and support to project team
 quality assurance
 constantly monitor and report on progress of the project to all staff
 present reports defining project progress, problems and solutions
 implement and manage project changes and interventions to achieve project outputs
 project evaluations and assessment of results

Hours
•10-40 hours a week depending on the need
• The Webmaster must be reachable by cell phone at all times if there is an emergency.

Requirements
A wide range of technical skills are required to be Webmaster including being open to learning new software.

Required:
Proficient in PHP, HTML 3 years experience in both

Formal IT training and extensive IT experience in hiring and managing contractors for projects
