I have 4 sites developed in xCart that we are moving from their old Apache host to their new IIS 7 host. I’ve got a few touchups that need to be corrected, page tiles not displaying correct, tabs not highlighting, some basic stuff.
Each site has a production site and a new site you can view, so it should be VERY easy to understand what needs done.
Sample:
http://www.buycouchesonline.com – Production Site
http://buycouchesonline.maxfurniture.com – Site to work on
If you do a great job, I have about a dozen sites that need to be converted in the next week or so.

This is a very cool project that requires quick turn-around.
This project requires an EXPERIENCED front-end and back-end developer (or developers). A bonus may be considered for rapid completion. We can discuss this during your interview.
Required technologies for this project:
XHTML, CSS, JQuery, PHP, MySQL, CMS
(WordPress?)
INTRODUCTION
This project entails the front-end and back-end programming of a small web 2.0 site with a very modern look and feel: fresh design, large professional photography, and modern type faces.
The designs are complete and will be provided as layered PSD files, JPEGs, and PDFs with sticky notes.
The main feature of the website is a contest that allows users to upload a photo. Approved photos are then displayed next to other images.
Site content needs to be editable (CMS). A private admin area is needed to manage user-submitted photos and perform other basic functions.
The site must be easy to configure. We would like to be able to easily move it across server environments (e.g., from a “test” server to a “live” production server).
SUMMARY OF REQUIREMENTS
1. Website in one language (English).
2. Create XHTML/CSS
Designs will be provided to you as layered PSD files. You must create XHTML and CSS that renders properly in all modern web browsers (Firefox, Chrome, Safari, Internet Explorer 7+) and SmartPhones (e.g., iPhone, Android).
3. Front-end programming
The website will have:
- rollover site navigation (sub-menus)
- multiple pages with JQuery carousels
- image map rollover DIVs (show/hide/switch)
- Twitter feed on home page (we will give you Javascript for this)
4. File upload, very basic move/resize image feature.
- site visitors able to upload photo via form
- server-side validation: only allow some files (JPG, PNG, tbd)
- form also has checkbox for newsletter opt-in
- newsletter opt-ins just saved to a database (no 3rd party integration or API)
- visitor able to do basic resize/moving of uploaded image (I WILL EXPLAIN)
- when image is submitted, email notification sent to site admin
- when image is submitted, user sees preview of their photo (next to other images)
5. Email notifications (approximately 4) triggered by certain events.
Examples:
- new photo received
- photo approved
- photo rejected
6. Admin tool: manage user-submitted photos
- approve, reject, disable, active, add (including file upload)
- if approved: user emailed link to page with their photo (next to other images)
7. Admin tool: manage groups of images
NOTE: these are not the same images uploaded by users
- manage “groups” of different images (each group could have 1-20 images in it)
- upload/remove images from a group (*don’t* need ability to move images)
- only one image per group can be active at a time
8. Admin tool: export newsletter subscribers
- click link to extract data from MySQL table
- delimited format
9. Content management system (CMS)
- WordPress or similar
- all content added to CMS
10. Site framework
- custom 404 (error page or redirect)
- XML site map
- robots.txt
11. Easy technical configuration
- manage environment variables centrally (XML or PHP)
- easy to move the website from “dev” to “test” to “live” environments
12. Basic technical documentation
- summarize project software, add-ons, GPL libraries, etc.
- how to configure web server environment
- other information needed to setup/move environents
